Website Speed Optimization for Small Business

A slow site loses visitors before they read your offer. We find what is slowing yours down, fix it, and show you before and after measurements.

Prices: starting at $890 for up to 5 pages, $1,490 for up to 15 pages.

The usual culprits are oversized images, slow database queries, render-blocking CSS and JavaScript, third-party scripts, and missing caching. We measure first, so we fix what is slow instead of guessing.

What you get

Tier 1: $890, up to 5 pages - Performance audit with Lighthouse, Core Web Vitals, and a request waterfall - Image compression and modern formats (WebP, AVIF) - CSS and JavaScript minification and deferred loading - Database query review, if your site has dynamic content - Browser caching setup - Before-and-after performance report

Tier 2: $1,490, up to 15 pages - Everything in Tier 1 - CDN setup (content delivery network) - Review of your caching strategy - Server-level recommendations - Extended monitoring after launch

Core Web Vitals in plain terms

Google measures three user-experience metrics. They are one signal among many, and good scores don't guarantee rankings.

Metric What it measures "Good" threshold If it's poor
LCP (Largest Contentful Paint) How fast the main content appears 2.5 seconds or less Visitors may leave before they see your offer
INP (Interaction to Next Paint) How fast the page responds to taps and clicks 200 milliseconds or less The site feels sluggish or broken
CLS (Cumulative Layout Shift) How much the layout jumps while loading 0.1 or less People tap the wrong button

Thresholds are Google's, measured at the 75th percentile of real visits. We test your pages against them and report where each one stands.

One real result: a database query

On a client's site outside the U.S., we cut one database query from 2.3 seconds to 6 milliseconds after indexing the right column.

It is the time of a single SQL query, not the load time of a whole page. Page load also includes images, scripts, and network time. We include the case because slow queries are a common cause of slow server responses, and we check for them. We don't promise a specific page-load result for your site. Your report shows measured before-and-after numbers for your pages.

What we optimize

  1. Images (often the biggest cost)
  2. Compress without visible quality loss
  3. Convert to WebP or AVIF
  4. Lazy-load images below the fold
  5. Serve sizes that fit phones and desktops

  6. JavaScript and CSS

  7. Minify files
  8. Defer scripts that aren't needed at first paint
  9. Remove unused CSS

  10. Server and database

  11. Enable compression and caching headers
  12. Review slow queries on dynamic sites
  13. Set up a CDN (Tier 2)

  14. Third-party scripts

  15. Analytics, ads, and chat widgets can slow a page
  16. We load them later or remove the ones you don't use

  17. Hosting

  18. We check whether your host is the bottleneck and recommend a change only if the measurements show it

FAQ

What's a good website speed?

Use Google's thresholds above: LCP of 2.5 seconds or less, INP of 200 milliseconds or less, CLS of 0.1 or less. We measure your pages against them and show the gaps.

Do we need new hosting?

Often not. We recommend a hosting change only if your pages are still slow after optimization and the measurements point to the server.

How long does it take?

It depends on your platform and the number of pages. We confirm the timeline in the quote, before you pay.

What if we use WordPress or Shopify?

We work on both. WordPress usually needs a plugin review and some code changes. On Shopify you can't edit server code, but images, scripts, and installed apps can still be improved.

Will we lose features or design?

No. Optimization changes how the site loads, not what it does. We don't remove features. If a script such as a chat widget is slowing the page, we tell you and you decide.

How we work

We measure with Google's own tools, Lighthouse and PageSpeed Insights, before and after, and show you both sets of numbers. If a change doesn't improve the measurement, we tell you.
